This course consists of 5 units and follows the latest guidelines, with up-to-date information. You don’t need to be working in a school for this course.
Unit 1 Enabling Individuals to Learn – This unit explores:
Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Advanced Practitioner.
Understand the statutory educational frameworks in own Home Nation.
Understand the influence of the environment on learning in schools and colleges.
Understand monitoring and assessment in own school or colleges.
Unit 2 – Support Children and Young People to Improve Their Mental Health and Well-being – This unit explores:
Understand mental health and well-being in children and young people.
Understand the current legislation in relation to children and young people’s
mental health in their own Home Nation.
Understand how to support the mental health and well-being of children and
young people in schools and colleges.
Practical Strategies for Supporting Mental Health in the Classroom.
Unit 3 – Working With Others to Support Individuals With Additional Needs and Disability in a School or College – This unit explores:
Understand current frameworks for inclusive practice.
Understand provision related to children, young people and/or adults’ additional needs.
Understand the role and responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
Understand factors which affect families who are caring for children, young people and/or adults with special educational needs or disabilities.
Understand own setting’s policies and procedures to support children, young people and/or adults with special educational needs or disabilities.
Unit 4 – Working With Families and Other Professionals in a School or College Setting – This unit explores:
Understanding the Requirements for Partnership Working in Schools or Colleges.
Understanding the Diverse Needs of Families and How These Are Addressed.
Leading, Coaching, or Mentoring Staff in Partnership Working.
Exploring the Legal and Ethical Considerations in Partnership Working.
Unit 5 – Implementing Change in School or College Setting – This unit explores:
Be able to plan a research project.
Be able to undertake a review of practice in your own setting.
Be able to understand how to present findings to others.
250 CPD Points – 5 Units
You don’t need any previous qualifications or school placement for this Level 3 course. You will be taught the full Level 3 syllabus once enrolled.
