What does this level 2 certificate course cover?

This course has been designed to provide you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills required when working with children and young people. It covers a wide range of topics, from development and supporting positive behaviour to building professional relationships.

What are the entry requirements?

This course requires a 51-hour work placement in a school with children 5 years of age and above. Nursery and reception classes fall under the EYFS framework and do not qualify for this course. We recommend that your placement provides between 3-6 hours in the classroom per week.

As with all of our courses, you must be over 16 years of age to enrol.

Who is this level 2 course suitable for?

This course is aimed at learners that are currently working or volunteering in a school or college setting.

Do I need any experience?

To take this course you need to be currently working in a school or college as there are several practical assignments.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes, we offer flexible 0% finance to all of our students.

How long will the course take?

This course runs for 12-months, if you need some extra time, we will be happy to extend it for a small additional fee.

Do I have to sit an exam?

No, you are assessed throughout your course via written assignments. Tutor feedback is provided after each assignment and if any help is needed to pass an assignment, your tutor will be on hand to help.
