Play and leisure are important and beneficial for children and young people and contribute to all areas of learning and development. Through making their own decisions and being able to experiment through play and leisure, children and young people will be developing skills and experience in several areas.

Entry Requirements – a school placement is required

To enrol in this NCFE Level 3 Diploma course, you need to be working or volunteering in a school with Key Stage 1 and above. This is because the course involves classroom observations, and nursery or reception classes aren’t suitable for this. You’ll also need to put together a portfolio of evidence to show how you’ve met the NCFE learning criteria. It’s a great way to demonstrate all the fantastic skills and knowledge you’ll gain!

NCFE CACHE suggests that you get 200 hours of practical experience in the school classroom. This observation can be carried out by a qualified teacher, assessor, or someone at a higher level of management. It’s great because you can do this in either a mainstream or special school. It’s a fantastic opportunity to put what you learn into practice!
