Following the announcement from the Government, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the proactive steps that De Montfort College is taking to support both colleagues and customers during these difficult times.
The health and well-being of our valued colleagues is paramount and with this in mind, all office based colleagues at De Montfort College will be working from home for an expected period of 10 weeks, whilst remaining fully operational and committed to providing the service you need.
We understand that you will be experiencing a great deal of disruption, and we will do all we can to minimise this and continue to provide a positive customer experience.
We will still be offering front line support, through email, at our usual opening hours Monday – Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm. You may experience some minor delays in response but please be assured we will respond to your enquiry at the earliest opportunity.
Following the Government announcement of school closures on 18 March 2020, De Montfort College with immediate effect, will provide, subject to our standard terms and conditions, free course extensions to all work-placement qualifications. We will closely monitor the situation to ensure an extension to the length of term time closure will be applied at the end of your 12-month study period.
You can continue with any knowledge-based assignments of the work-placement courses and submit for assessment if you wish. Please be aware that witness testimony assignments cannot be submitted whilst the schools remain closed.
For all Award qualifications, these are knowledge-based courses which are not be affected by school closures. As such, the standard course extension fees will remain in effect for all Award qualifications.
We know that you will have a lot of specific queries relating to different scenarios you might be facing – from finance to assessment and more.
As you are acutely aware, this is a constantly evolving situation and we will continue to adapt our approach as new governmental, health authority and regulatory guidance comes to light. We reserve the right to adapt our COVID-19 policies accordingly.
